How do I know if therapy is right for my child? +It’s common for parents to wonder whether what their child is experiencing is “normal” or something that might need extra support. Therapy can be helpful when a child is struggling with emotions, behavior, school, friendships, or changes at home—even if the challenges don’t seem extreme.
You may want to consider therapy if your child is experiencing ongoing anxiety, sadness, frequent meltdowns, difficulty with attention or behavior, sleep issues, social struggles, or if they have gone through a stressful or traumatic event. Therapy can also be beneficial when a child seems withdrawn, overwhelmed, or is having a hard time coping with everyday stress.
If you’re unsure, a consultation can be a helpful first step. Sometimes therapy provides support not only for the child, but also for caregivers as they learn tools to strengthen connection and build confidence at home.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
+Many people consider therapy when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. You don’t have to be in crisis for therapy to be helpful—sometimes it’s simply a space to better understand yourself, process life experiences, and build healthier ways of coping.
Therapy may be a good fit if you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, difficulty managing emotions, or if past experiences are continuing to affect your daily life. It can also be helpful during major life transitions or when you want support building confidence, improving communication, or creating meaningful change.
If you’re wondering whether therapy is right for you, that curiosity alone is often a good sign. A consultation can be a great first step to ask questions, explore your goals, and decide if it feels like the right fit.
